I think "I die" describes best how much I'm into Whyred's spring collection. Everything from head to toe is just adorable. My favorite outfit is the one with the overknees.

Oh and no, I'm not dead, just buried by an avalanche of work....

Get Cheryl Cole's X Factor style for a faction of the price

Cheryl Cole's designer wardrobe may come at a high price, but there is a way to steal her style without breaking the bank.

The Matthew Williamson dress from the autumn/winter collection was worn by Cheryl Cole on the X factor, and retails at £1,495. Centre: The Forever Unique version costs just £175  Photo: REX

The X Factor has become as important a showcase for Cheryl Cole’s increasingly OTT fashion taste as it is for emerging singing talent.

The appearance of the ‘singing judge’ has become a regular catwalk event demonstrating as vividly as London Fashion Week the latest and most extreme looks from our most talented established and emerging designers, including Alexander McQueen, Marios Schwab, Giles, Matthew Williamson, and, more recently, David Koma and Jean-Pierre Braganza.

Cheryl’s look-at-me, flashbulb-friendly style comes at a high price. The David Koma ‘industrial chic’ dress, which featured a metal ‘staircase’ snaking across the torso, for example, carried a price tag of a hefty £1,900.

And the Matthew Williamson ‘Cleopatra’ mini-shift, in cream wool, emblazoned with a multicoloured collar of stones, is from the new autumn/winter collection, for £1,495 (www.matthewwilliamson.com/shop).

But there are always ways to nail-down that celebrity factor at a fraction of the price. The new fashion website, www.foreverunique.co.uk, for example, has its own version of Cheryl Cole’s ‘Cleopatra’ dress, for just £175, in sizes 8-14. And the new spring/summer collections from ASOS (available from mid-to-late January), which I was lucky enough to preview this morning, and from major high street brands including Topshop and Miss Selfridge, are awash with heavy metal references which recall the David Koma experience.

First Lady Michelle Obama sparkles in Bochic at First State Dinner

President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama hosted their first official State Dinner at the White House with Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his wife Gursharan Kaur. Michelle Obama made what is sure to be a memorable and glamorous entrance, dazzling in one-of-a-kind Bochic earrings. The Bochic rose cut, amber, and tourmaline pear shaped earrings complimented her gown beautifully and gracefully enhanced her bare neckline.

"We are incredibly honored that Mrs. Obama chose to wear Bochic earrings last night. When we designed the earrings we wanted to integrate both Eastern and Western design elements. We were drawn to the orange hue of the natural amber and the rose color of the rubellite tourmaline, which are traditional Indian colors. We also added rose cut diamonds to create a vintage feel. These one-of-a-kind earrings are handcrafted and completely unique. The First Lady was an absolute vision," says designer David Joseph.

From opulent bangles to oversized statement earrings, Bochic pieces are sure to captivate a crowd. The designs have attracted a vast celebrity clientele and are beloved by the fashion elite.

Designers David Joseph and Miriam Salat strive to capture the essence of the Bochic woman - impeccable taste and passion for luxury. It's about the embodiment of independent spirit, confidence, style, adventure and zest for life.

Bochic is inspired by the designers' passion for travel and their experiences in the world's most exotic locales. With influences from India, Turkey, Morocco and Spain, you might say travel is their muse. The Bochic designs show enduring respect for the variety and richness of the global cultural heritage.

Miriam's background in hand-crafted fashion jewelry is the perfect complement to David's expertise in classical European jewelry. The union creates a look that is fresh, sexy, and stylish, yet enduring and distinctive.

The Bochic collection can be found worldwide and is sold at some of the most prestigious luxury retailers.

Redesigned Swarovski Star for Rockefeller Christmas Tree

Swarovski, the leading producer of crystal stones and crystal fashion jewelry, today unveiled the newly refurbished crystal star that will crown the 2009 Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree. Nadja Swarovski, Vice President of International Communications, and Thomas Madden, Managing Director of Tishman Speyer, co-owners of Rockefeller Center, were on hand to reveal the enhancements to the star, which include a cutting-edge computerized new lighting system with energy-efficient LED bulbs.

The star's 12 rays are outfitted with 720 LED bulbs on 3,000 feet of wire to create a dazzling, twinkling effect through customized light sequencing programmed by a complex computer system. This is the first year that the Swarovski star, which debuted at the top of the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree in 2004, will feature dynamic light movement.

A team of nine artisans and engineers spent three months employing a unique combination of art, science and technology to complete the new design. The team spent 1,200 hours installing, programming and testing the star to ensure the effects would withstand the challenging winter weather conditions 76-feet above Rockefeller Center.

The Swarovski star is comprised of 25,000 crystals, with 1,000,000 facets, measures 9 1/2 feet in diameter and is 1 1/2 feet deep. Weighing 550 pounds -- including 300 pounds of crystal panels -- it is composed of six outer rays and six smaller inner rays. The main surfaces of the rays are made of point-mounted safety glass, the same shatter-proof glass that adorns the facades of New York City buildings. The crystals are affixed to the inner sides of the glass in a tight, scale-like pattern to ensure maximum brilliance.

"The redesign of the star exemplifies the Swarovski tradition of blending innovation with timeless elegance," said Nadja Swarovski. "We are proud to continue to enhance the star's beauty and to share our vision with visitors to Rockefeller Center from around the world."

"We are pleased to once again partner with Swarovski to present New Yorkers and visitors alike with a magnificent symbol of the holidays at Rockefeller Center," said Thomas Madden, Managing Director of Tishman Speyer. "The new elements to the star are sure to dazzle the millions who visit the iconic tree each year."

The Swarovski Star now sits atop the 76-foot-high, 40-foot wide, over 10-ton Norway Spruce from the home of Maria Corti. An exact replica of the Swarovski Star will also be on display in Rockefeller Center to allow visitors the opportunity to get a closer view of the detailing and craftsmanship.

In addition to the redesign of the star, Swarovski will offer a selection of holiday jewelry and ornaments on sale at the Swarovski holiday kiosk at Rockefeller Center, at Swarovski boutiques nationwide and online at www.Swarovski.com. The collection includes stylish star-themed crystal jewelry and an Annual Edition Ornament.

The 77th Rockefeller Center Tree Lighting Ceremony will be held on Wednesday, December 2nd, from 7 P.M.-9 P.M. The two-hour ceremony will be televised live, locally on WNBC-TV from 7 PM-8 PM and nationally on NBC from 8 P.M.-9 P.M.

Rockefeller Center officially began the Tree Lighting Ceremony in 1933, when a Christmas tree was erected in front of the then-RCA Building and covered with 700 lights. Christmas trees in Rockefeller Center have ranged from 50-foot Pines to 100-foot Norway Spruces and are viewed by millions of spectators during the holiday season.

Fashion in Combat: Men's Military Trend 2009-2010

The military shape always has been a fashion driven trend for the colder months; but for Autumn (Fall)/Winter 2009-2010 designers such as Gareth Pugh, Alexander McQueen, John Galliano and Burberry have modified and transformed the combat uniform from the past to the now. Gareth Pugh, with one of the most unusual menswear collections for A/W 09-10 has brought inspiration from the likes of German officer overcoats from the Second World War to the metal chain mail suits that were worn under suits of armour.

image 6

Movies can also be seen as a heavy influence in Pugh's A/W collection with feathers for shoulder decoration as inspiration from The Crow including the Gothic ripped trousers and black boots and the metallic body combat suit, a similar cut to Christian Bale's costume in Equilibrium.

Shoes in 2009: Shoe Trends for Spring/Summer 2009

Forget about different toe shapes and heel heights; in Spring/Summer 2009 shoe trends all come down to the details.

From fringing to laces to buckles and straps; exotic to fetish to architectural; these are the elements that define the trends.

And one thing is for certain: boring just doesn't cut it.

Thigh high boots / over the knee boots trend 2010

When it comes to 2010 fashion trends we're facing a year of subtlety and tradition. And while many of us will be wearing classical silhouettes and subdued colours we'll all be in need of making them pop; after all, doesn't every fashioniser want to stand out from the crowd?

For women that 'stand out' look is just about to get a whole lot easier thanks to the hottest trend for shoes in 2010: thigh high boots.

Originally I tipped that this trend would enter the wardrobes of fashion forwards women in Autumn (Fall)/Winter 2009/2010, but you've all gone ahead and worn them anyway. Yes, Summer may just be about to reach the Northern Hemisphere but seasons be damned. You want your thigh-high boots, and you want them now!

David Koma's hour of triumph

If you ask about russian designers there are not so many names that I think worth to be mentioned though there are several: Alena Akhmadullina(fairytales are the main subjects of all her collections) Denis Simachev(he made a trend out of traditional russian patterns), Alexander Terekhov(he makes very feminine, beautiful dresses and reminds me of Diane von Furstenberg)-till recently only these designers I considered to be really outstanding and competitive with foreign designers. Two days ago I was watching MTV EMA in Berlin on TV and when I saw Beyonce getting her award I just cried WOW! I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw that she was wearing a dress by David Koma! He wasn't very famous before that and I think that it was an hour of triumph for him. Beyonce is such popular person and she undoubtedly can make a name for him. I'm really happy for David because he is so young and talented and he is from my country(that's very nice) and from my city(Saint-Petersburg) and he deserves this fame. Before his graduate collection(he studied at Saint Martin's) from wich was this dress he didn't have his special style that could make his collections recognizable but this collection is really a breakthrough. That dress was also shown in the last issue of V magazine Spain and that was also a pleasant surprise for me. I'm very happy that russian designers are entering the international arena because we need people that we can be proud of and David is one of them. I must admit that his graduate collection was great but I like even more his new spring/summer 10 collection- It's amazing how he works with colors and shapes! I would definetely buy one of these dresses for myself. All designres that are trendy now should be beware of David because I'm sure-very soon he will be very serious rival for them.Remember my words!

NB!P.S. Oh! Forgot to mention that Megan Fox,Lady Gaga and Sharyl Cole were also rocking David Koma's dresses! Lucky boy!:) It's cool to see your creation on Lady Gaga- she knows how to make any piece of clothes a hot stuff!

Marie Antoinette for Halloween was a succes

So finally here are the photos from Halloween! It was the first time when I decided to dress for Halloween properly and I had so much fun! Luckily all my friends were wearing fancy dresses so I was dying laughing when I saw them. I was Marie Antoinette or Versailles whore-what you like better))As I was wearing such crazy wig almost all my acquaintances couldn't recognize me and I liked it a lot. Unfortunately not so many people in clubs were dressed for Halloween though I think that it is the only day in a year when the dress code should be very strict.

It can be any color if this color is black

This Friday me and my friend Dasha attended a party held by MAC cosmetics in black style. Honestly, I was pleasantly surprized because this party was really made on very high level for our city-great concept, amazing decoration(ah! these huge purple candles were just fantastic!Want to have them at home but it can be fire hazardous), perfect music(I wonder what band was playing at the beginning of the party...it was lovely!) and cool make up on the models and barmen(first time I admited that smoky eyes and black nails can look sexy on guys:) . The organizers have completely changed quite dull interior of the bar into some mystical space.Good work!
Dress code of the party sounded like this:
London's new-gothic. IT CAN BE ANY COLOR IF THIS COLOR IS BLACK. -Nice!:)
I can't say that my outfit was very "gothic" but it was almost complitely black and I was wearing my self-made embroidered tights that you could see HERE. I was also wearing quite short dress/shirt that I purchased in Stocholm some time ago and my friend Dasha was always saying that it looked like I forgot my pants. Anyway I was very self-confident wearing all this so it was ok. The only bad thing was that I found out that all the Black collection was already sold out! Damn, how could they make a presentation of it when it was already sold out?!Weird logic! So now, Doe Deere, you can be sure that I'll purchase the black lipstick(and many other colors because they are AWEsome!) from your collection because MAC has really disappointed me!(By the way you really should check out her Lime Crime cosmetics because I'm fully confident that you have never seen such weird/fantastic/crazy colors before!).

Choosing a Manicure Set

Truly beautiful nails need care and attention on a regular basis and what better way to pamper them, than with an exquisitely crafted manicure set. When choosing a manicure set, bear in mind what requirements you need - Do your nails often snag? Are they fast growing? Do you have brittle nails? Different nail types may require slightly different implements, so it is worth considering this before you make a purchase.

A standard manicure set should always contain nail scissors, tweezers and a nail file, but many luxury sets have extra implements such as clippers, nail pliers and under nail cleaners.

Nail clippers are great for cutting down long nails, but can leave the tips of nails angular and square. To create a less jagged and more rounded tip to nails, manicure scissors are ideal as the blades are curved. This means they can follow the natural shape of the nails more easily. Another key advantage of nail scissors is that you can see exactly how much of the nail is being trimmed, which is sometimes difficult to judge with nail clippers. Nail scissors are also a good investment for those with brittle nails – to prevent nails from snapping it is best to keep them short. Cutting brittle nails with nail clippers may cause them to split, whereas nail scissors produce much less pressure on the nail when cutting, reducing the chance of this happening.

Nail pliers are more robust, and create a greater cutting force. As such, they should be avoided for use on delicate nails, but are perfect for thick nails – especially toe nails! Often, normal nail clippers or scissors just can’t adequately cut toe nails, but with professional quality nail pliers, cutting tough nails becomes easy.

Cuticle shapers, or a ‘hoof stick’ can be used to push and shape cuticles back from covering the nail, to the base of the nail bed. Not only does this give the nail a neater appearance, but it actually helps promote nail growth. Overgrown cuticles cover the nail plate and this impedes growth, so regular cuticle care can help those with shorter nails. Shapely cuticles are also an advantage for those who frequently paint their nails, as it creates a better shaped nail, and painting over the top of cuticles will result in nail varnish chipping more easily.

Longer nails may benefit from a nail cleaner, as these are specifically designed to reach under the nail and help remove any debris and dirt that collects under it.

Many manicure sets also have a nail file, which is always a great investment. Nail files are perfect for shaping the tip of a nail once it has been cut to a desired length, or for getting rid of jagged ends when a nail tears. Ensure that you file in one direction only for a smooth edge.

Manicure implements come in a variety of finishes: stainless steel, chrome or even gold-plated. Professional quality implements are considerably more expensive but should last a lifetime and carry a guarantee. Manicure cases are available in many different styles and finishes. A small neat one is perfect for keeping in a handbag for that unforeseen emergency! Leather sets are more expensive than those made from man-made materials, but make a lovely present to give or receive.

4 Step Summer Bikini Plan - How To Look Amazing At The Beach

Summer is an unforgiving season. Especially at the beach when you wear a bikini. Everything shows.

When you wear your little black dress or your party dresses, you can fake an amazing body with shapewear. Girdles shrink your waist. Shapewear pants slim your thighs. Push up bras give you amazing cleavage. Unfortunately, on the beach, everything is on display as it really is.

You could visit the plastic surgeon, pay the expensive fees for surgery, take the risks related to surgery and the pain and recovery time that follows in pursuit of that perfect body but is it really worth it? After all, implants are fake. Sucking out the fat via liposuction has the risk of death.

A better bet is to do what you can with what you now have. Get that body in shape naturally.

1. Diet.

Sorry, Garfield. I know Diet is DIE with a T in it but there really is no other way. To lose weight, you have to change your diet. It isn’t that bad. You can snack on carrots, celery sticks and cucumbers and fill your stomach with soups (non diary), vegetables (no salad cream but you can sprinkle seeds and nuts, vinegar and olive oil on your veggies) and brown rice and have lean meat for the necessary protein, but chocolates, biscuits, ice cream, cakes, creamy desserts, crips, pizzas and basically junk food, has to go. Cut the diary and wheat. Drop the soft drinks, sweet drinks, alcohol and stick to water and herbal teas. Green tea speeds your metabolism. Chamomile relaxes you and is a refreshing tea (but without the sugar). Popcorn, unbuttered, no sugar either, would be a good crisps substitute so you don’t feel too deprived.

Basically, it is harder to burn off the calories than to not put them into your mouth in the first place. Get on a treadmill and see how long it takes to burn 150 calories (1 can of coke). How many cans did you drink? How hard would it be to burn off those calories? Water has zero calories. 100g of pringles has 558 calories. How hard must you work to burn that off?

2. Exercise

You need exercise to boost your metabolic rate so that your body burns more calories, even when you rest. Get up an hour early and work out. Go for a run before breakfast everyday. Go swimming or cycling as often as you can.

3. Get tanned

Use a sunless tanner to get bronzed. If you bake in the sun, the UV rays will damage your skin in the long run, leading to earlier and deeper wrinkles, liver spots at an early age and possibly skin cancer. A natural tan is a sign of damage.

4. Detox

The weekend before you hit the beach, detox by going green all day long. Start the morning with wheat grass juice and veggie juices for breakfast. Still hungry? Have a huge salad without the cream. For lunch, have another big salad with vinegar dressing. Snack on celery and carrots and cucumber in between. For dinner, have a giant bowl of veggie soup. Absolutely no wheat or diary throughout the weekend.

Review of Anti-Aging Skin Care Products

When it comes to anti-aging skincare, choosing the appropriate products for your skin is half the battle. Hydrating and protecting your skin goes a long way in preserving the appearance and condition of your skin. Here we look at four anti-aging skincare products that deliver on their promises.

Strivectin

Strivectin is a company that sells a variety of anti-aging skincare products that contribute to a radiant and youthful appearance. Strivectin has been touted as anti-aging skincare that performs its results at a swifter rate than retinol, and offers better results than vitamin C. Strivectin products for the skin are gentle, non-irritating and do not involve any type of surgery or needles. It is common for cosmetic surgeons and dermatologists to encourage their patients to use Strivectin in combination with Botox shots (Botulinum Toxin).

Kinerase

Kinerase is an anti-aging skincare product line that helps the skin to be smoother and more youthful in appearance. It includes the highest strength of kinetin (also known as N6-furfuryladenine) than any anti-aging skincare product. Kinetin is a “nature-identical cytokinin” which is derived from plants.

Kinerase is meant to be used on a day-to-day basis and helps to combat many of the signs of premature aging that are evidenced in the face. Fine lines and crow’s feet are reduced with repeated use of Kinerase. These unique anti-aging skincare products also decrease the blotchiness of the skin, as well as wrinkles and freckles. Kinerase is beneficial for anyone wishing to slow the process of aging and it also works to repair skin that has been damaged by the sun’s harmful rays.

Neova

Neova is a line of anti-aging skincare products that work to reduce the obvious signs of aging which take place as we move from our younger years into middle age. The Neova Company not only has a variety of products for anti-aging, but also products that address very basic skincare problems such as dryness and excessive oiliness.

One of the main ingredients in the Neova product line is copper, as copper aids in the repair of tissues that have been ravaged by age, ill health or neglect. Copper is also an essential element necessary for the production of collagen and elastin. Copper is a type of antioxidant which is a defender of the skin in terms of the damage free radicals can wreak. Copper also firms the skin and increases the density of it.

Avene

Avene and water go hand in hand. Here is a company that has its hand on the pulse of anti-aging skincare. Avene combines dermatology and hydrotherapy thanks to the soothing properties of its Thermal spring water that originates from the Cevennes Mountains. Avene is concerned with the science of anti-aging in terms of skincare, but the company is also concerned about those who have sensitive skin, oily skin, dry skin and a variety of skin irritations.

To date, over 300 extensive studies, including biological, clinical and pharmacological, have been done on the Thermal spring water to substantiate the fact that its properties are well suited to care for and manage aging, as well as sensitive skin.

Herbal Hair Loss Remedies

Herbs hold an obvious appeal for many people because they support the body’s natural healing mechanisms to target the cause of the problem, as opposed to merely tackling the symptoms. It would be wrong to present herbal hair loss remedies as a miracle solution for all sufferers — there is however growing evidence to support the view that some herbal remedies offer real hope to many people.

Let’s examine the case for some of the more popular remedies to determine if they’re worth trying.
Ginkgo biloba: This popular herb is thought to improve blood circulation to the brain and skin. Herbalists believe that the increased flow of blood to the brain area delivers more nutrients to the hair follicles thus promoting hair regrowth. The recommended dose is 120-160mg of dry extract each day spread over three doses.

Green tea (Camellia sinesis): It is thought that catechins found in green tea may inhibit the enzyme 5-alpha-reductase that converts testosterone into hair-unfriendly DHT. It is therefore believed to be effective in preventing and treating male pattern type baldness. You should drink several cups of green tea each day or take it in capsule form as instructed by the manufacturer.

He Shou Wu (Polygonum multiflorum): Also known as Fo-Ti, this Chinese herb has traditionally been used to reduce hair loss. It is found in many commercial preparations, or in tea and capsule form.
Pygeum (Pygeum africanum): Derived from the bark of an evergreen, it works in a similar way to green tea. It is widely used to treat prostate problems and male pattern baldness. Users should take 60-500mg per day in pill or capsule form.

Saw palmetto (Seranoa repens): This is the current treatment of choice for many men due to its ability to protect the prostate, slow hair loss and encourage hair regrowth. It forms the core element of many commercially prepared hair loss treatments but can easily be obtained in its pure form. The recommended dose is a 160mg capsule twice each day, but make sure the ingredients are made from the berry extract not the dried berries themselves.

Stinging nettle (Urtica diocia): This has long been favored as a means of preventing hair loss due to its ability to block the conversion of testosterone into DHT. It can be taken in pill or capsule form with an optimum dose of 50-100mg per day. It is particularly effective when combined with pygeum and saw palmetto.

Batting Longer Lashes with Innovative Eyelash Treatments

It has been said that “the eyes are the window to the soul” and that window is draped in a sea of lashes. Eyelashes are delicate and fragile. They are an integral part of the facial profile and must be treated delicately. Over time, eyelashes can become brittle, thin and fragile. These effects are especially increased with the continual use of harsh chemicals that are found in most makeup. Mascara may provide temporary enhancement to the eyelashes, but in the long run, the use of it can be harmful. Just like the hair on your head, the lashes on your eyes can be treated with conditioning agents to restore and maintain a healthy appearance.

Treating the hair follicles of your eye lashes

Hair follicles are an integral part of the skin’s structure. As the skin ages, so do the hair follicles. They lose their ability to produce and support strong hairs. Likewise, harsh factors in the environment like the sun’s UV rays, toxins and pollutants in the air can damage the skin and underlying hair follicles.

Many products on the market today are designed to address issue associated with age and the environment, such as B.Kamins Eyelash Fortifier. B.Kamins Eyelash Fortifier targets the eyelash loss problem by addressing the aging of hair follicles. It contains plant extracts and multi-vitamins that stimulate circulation in hair follicles, thus allowing the follicle to produce and support stronger, healthier hairs. B.Kamins Eyelash Fortifier actually fights aging and environmental factors that negatively influence the appearance of eyelashes over time.

Supporting the growth of new eye lashes

Protect both eyes and lashes with products like Revitalash Cosmetic Eyelash Conditioner, which is specially formulated to promote the growth of strong, healthy new lashes while enhancing the fullness of existing ones. Revitalash Cosmetic Eyelash Conditioner contains active ingredients like vitamin B5 and citric acid to stimulate growth and create a protective shield. It is so effective that even patients suffering from cancer have used it to restore lashes after chemotherapy. The average user will also enjoy the same powerful results.

Eyelash treatment for sensitive skin

For those with more sensitive skin and eyes, Talika Eyelash Conditioning Cream is an ultra-sensitive formula that is both gentle and effective. It is designed to be used morning and night for a period of 28 days; then once daily to achieve maximum results. Talika Eyelash Conditioning Cream is an excellent product for brittle lashes and those that are prone to falling out.

Finally, Neova Procyte MD Lash Factor is known for its ability to enhance the length and thickness of eyelashes. Weight Loss - The Atkins diet

Few people know that about eighty years ago, people were considered obese people attractive, vigorous and respectable, unlike thin people, who were considered poor, weak and sick, not to mention somewhat desirable. For that reason, obese people are never judged or criticized, and hence no one thought that most of these kilitos could become a health problem. Already in course of time, the roles were invested and obese people were more rejected that thin people. This gave rise to the diets, of which there are currently all sorts of exercises, products, gadgets and treatments for losing weight in an effective manner, and in some cases out uncontrolled and irresponsible. But the creation of a specific diet, radically changed the whole concept of the diets, showing the world that these elements are not only to limit the intake of fats and carbohydrates but can also bring incredible results inversely, to be exact we Talking about the Atkins diet from its inception it has been shown to the world as a revolutionary but efficient option for losing weight.

The Atkins diet was developed in 1972 by U.S. cardiologist Robert Atkins, who through their studies and experiments on the reactions of the human body was able to invent a diet highly contradictory to the others, because this is not based on lower consumption elements such as fat or meat, but this, on the contrary argued that a higher consumption of the service and lower consumption of foods such as vegetables, cereals and vegetables the human body would react so quickly lose weight.

When we talk about the Atkins diet is essential to touch such topics as the efficiency and the principles of it, because without this we will not know in fact that is the diet. The Atkins diet is beginning to provide the body with large amounts of protein by increasing intake of foods such as meat and in turn almost completely eliminate the foods of plant origin, with the aim of reducing carbohydrates to the point that during the Exercise your body do not use carbohydrates to feed its energy, but to proteins or rather the fat for that purpose, thus helping the body eliminate fat quickly helping in this way to lose weight quickly.

The results of that diet can not rebut, because in most cases these are of a weight loss of 4 to 5 kilos in the first week, and stabilized in the following from 1 to 2 pounds per week in that diet. It is noteworthy that these results can vary by agency, however the data given above are some of the most significant obtained by the Atkins diet.

This diet in its principles was refuted by nutritionists and specialists in the field, but it seemed logical that the health of organs like the heart and arteries could mean an increase in the possibility of suffering from evils such as hypertension and cardiovascular problems, but it is fine to say that this thinking today is maintained, however the effectiveness of the Atkins diet is no longer in doubt.

Currently, and after several studies in people who possess the Atkins diet has succeeded in showing that this is not recommended past 23 days, because from this point is beginning to dangerously raise the levels of cholesterol and uric acid, and in turn presents a loss of vitamins and minerals risky for any agency, thus enabling the body to suffer from cardiovascular disease or any kind of level professional shortcomings.

Given the above as best you can say is that although this diet holds incredible results, so where better to go to a specialist who can recommend the best application, durability and consistency of that diet, with the purpose of avoiding the appearance of annoying evils which may affect the normal development of our everyday lives.

Pearl Jewelry Makes Headlines

Pearl jewelry has shot to the top of the news recently, as Calvin Klein and his ex-wife decided to sell three pieces of famous natural-pearl and diamond jewelry. These lovely pieces, one which is a 14-inch necklace with 28 natural pearls, once was owned by the Dutchess of Windsor. The pieces will be sold by auction at Sotheby’s in New York in December 2007. Estimates of the collection’s worth goes as high as $3.1 million. Klein originally paid $733,000 for the pieces at a Sotheby sale in 1987.

The pearls in this Windsor collection are from 16.8 to 9.2 mm in size and are completed by an oval clasp set with two emerald cut diamonds with a weight of 2 carats. There also are fancy shaped diamonds weighing 1 carat, which is bordered by 20 small round diamonds weighing .70 carat.

Other Klein pearl jewelry offerings at the upcoming auction will include a pearl and diamond pendant by Cartier and a pair of pearl earrings by Van Cleef & Arpels.

As can be seen with the estimated value of the Windsor pearls, natural pearls have appreciated significantly in value in the last 20 years. In April, the two-strand Indian “Baroda” pearl necklace brought $7.1 million at Christie’s International New York. This set a world record for natural pearl jewelry.

The premium prices and great fame of these particular pearl jewelry pieces highlight the high place pearl jewelry has in our consciousness. There are many outstanding places to purchase pearl jewelry. Some of the most famous types of pearls include Tahitian pearls and freshwater pearls.

Tahitian cultured pearls are a dramatic black color that comes from the black lips of the oyster. They are normally referred to as black pearls. However, the color of Tahitian pearls can range from graphite to beautiful metallic silver.

The beauty and high value of natural pearls makes it assured that a famous collection of these prized jewels will make headlines again soon!

Holiday Maternity Dresses: Look Sexy During Your Pregnancy!

October is already underway and Holiday Season is fast approaching with Thanksgiving and Christmas just around the corner. For many of us who are expecting, the holidays means finding a holiday dress for a number of social occasions. In addition to family and friend get-togethers, many of us also have holiday office parties to attend which may require a more formal dress. So, whether your maternity dress needs are casual, slightly upscale or formal, now is the time to start looking before it is too late! Here are few suggestions in your quest for the perfect maternity dress for the holidays:

Unless you are shopping for a full out formal affair, it is easy to find a maternity dress that is super versatile for not only Thanksgiving and Christmas parties for other outings as well. The wrap maternity dress style is the perfect bridge from a nice dinner out to holiday party. Solids are a good choice in shopping for a maternity dress you plan to wear more than once as it is not quite as memorable as a print – especially if you might run into the same people on more than one occasion. Burgundy is a popular color out this holiday season and definitely suits the occasion from Thanksgiving to Christmas to even a classic office dress or nice day-wear outfit. Wrap dresses are one of the best body styles on the market for expecting women as they are so easy to wear, flattering to many body types and adjustable to your changing shape. Both Japanese Weekend and Maternal America (check out their Front Tie Keyhole Maternity Dress) have some super wrap and sash tie dresses out this season in burgundy, ruby and black.

If patterns are more your style, look for a print that does not say “holiday” all over it but can be worn throughout the season for a variety of venues. The Maternal America Beaded Safari Dress is based upon their bestselling style from last Fall/Winter which was a hit during the holidays. This year’s style is a one of a kind earth print with a beautiful blend of safari earthy colors brought together in the front with attractive ruching with a centerpiece of chunky beading in earth colors. This dress can be worn for a formal occasion or a dinner out with friends. The colors are great for Fall, Winter, and even Spring with ¾ sleeves and light stretchy fabric. The Safari dress stretchy front ruching style plays up your curves and shows off all the best about your ever changing maternity shape.

If you have a truly dressy occasion to attend then your best option is maternity formalwear. Black is always a great choice and of course slimming and sexy for all body types and skin tones. There are a variety of styles that work very well in maternity formal dresses. Showing a little skin up top in either the sleeveless bodice or tube dress is always flattering. If you feel more comfortable with straps you can opt for a sleeveless or strappy dress to show a little shoulder or a deep V neck variety with short sleeves to show off your enhanced cleavage!

This season the full length formal dresses are very much in style on the red carpet and always a flattering and easy to fit style for expecting women. Particularly if you are further along in your pregnancy, a full length maternity gown gives some balance to a large blooming belly so the eye sees you in your entire dress from head to toe and your belly is not the sole target focus of everyone’s attention. Olian Maternity has a number of beautiful and classic full length formal styles in formal dresses including the Kora Maternity Evening Dress, which is a pretty black sleeveless style, and an elegant Black Sash Evening Dress in Black with a contrasting cream Sash and neckline accent.

If you opt to show off a little leg, then a black cocktail maternity dress style is always a great bet for the Holidays and any formal or dressy occasion. Olian Maternity has a number of great styles for choose from in sexy black cocktail dresses including the Beaded Neck Cocktail Dress with a high circle neck style in beautiful beading and elegant draping pleats which hits above the knee. Olian also has a tighter fitting Silk Bodice Dress that is fitted across the bust in a silk satin finish and bra friendly. Both of these cocktail maternity dresses are sexy, classic and stunning, particularly if you can still safely pull off a black heel to complete the look!

Some great choices for other sleeveless varieties in the burgundy-maroon color family for above the knee dresses include Maternal America’s Tulle Dress. This was another style which was a bestseller last holiday season in an espresso color and has returned this year in a stunning maroon color as well as a black variety. This dress has a pleated Grecian feel with a V neck leather empire waist accent that hits above the belly. The design and cut work well for all stages of your pregnancy and there is plenty of room in the belly and bust with no tenting or excess fabric. For a super buy, check out Theality’s Party Dress which is a simple tube style with bra friendly straps and fitted across the bust. This easy to wear and versatile cocktail party dress is available in both burgundy and black solid.

So whether you are looking for full out formal or versatile knee length maternity dresses for the Holidays, your best bet is to shop as early as possible. To get the most wear out of your holiday maternity dress, look for styles with enough belly room and stretch to last you a number of months and colors or prints that can also be worn for other occasions. If it’s chilly, just add a wrap and you are good to go!

This insight made women continue their pursuit to improving themselves which made women choosy in the things that they have from the ideal home, cars and even the things that are in a woman’s wardrobe. While you value business suits, the gowns and other wardrobes that you have in your closet, you might as well think of the clothes that you wear on even when you are about to sleep. While you may find comfort in those baggy pajamas or oversized t-shirts, you should think twice if that’s what you really want. Fashion A Manifestation Of Style In Time

What came first the chicken or the egg? Fashion is the second creation, style is the first. Fashion is born out of style, as individuals we create our own style each time we go to the wardrobe and put a collection of clothes together.

The chosen collection can be in or out of fashion, mixed and matched or clashed, the most important aspect is feeling comfortable and confident.

Styles that came into the fashion cycle in the 70’s are coming back and deemed original, but even in their 70’s heyday, e.g. the big checks owe their origin to Scottish tartan.

So the check style has been in and out of the cycle ever since it was first considered fashionable.

And if we look more closely at the styles that have been constant over many decades, or even centuries they were developed with function in mind. Protective against the elements.

Take note of how Thomas Burberry came up with the idea of a trench coat.

Thomas Burberry Noticing how local shepherds and farmers wore linen smocks, which were cool in summer and warm in the winter, he attempted to apply the same principles to other clothing.

In 1879 he developed a fabric which was weatherproofed in the yarn before weaving, using a secret process and then proofed again in the piece, using the same undisclosed formula. The new material was untearable and weatherproof, whilst cool and breathable. He called the cloth ‘gabardine’ and registered the word as a trademark.

It became the choice mackintosh for British officers during the Trench War in Europe, hence the name Trench Coat. It remains true to original form apart from some colour additions.

Then came silver cufflinks, in any metal you like, there’s enough history in these little gems to write a dozen books. They dropped out of fashion for about ten years and then came back in the 80’s and now ever stronger and moving to classical style. It looks like they’re going to be around for at least the next ten years, hopefully. Now we see men’s jewellery evolving, the name to watch Vivienne Westwood.

Did you ever consider where the dark suit originated? Not Italy, Not Germany, Not France. The outcome of a rebellious young man who just decided to create his own style and not be influenced by his peers.

Brummell rejected 18th century frills (dandy man). His mandate, a dark blue coat, buff-coloured pantaloons and waistcoat, black boots and a clean white neck cloth, survives today as the dark business suit, white shirt and silk tie

Bell bottomed trousers were another ‘icon’ of the square rig uniform. These were practical garments for men who worked sailing ships since they could be rolled up securely to clear the feet and ankles when working the rigging.

In common with all other items of a sailor’s kit, trousers were kept folded ready for use in a kit bag. Kept inside out to avoid fluff on the outer surface and to avoid ’shine’ by ironing, they were folded horizontally at about a hand’s width and taped into a rectangular ‘block’. When worn, this produced inverted vertical creases down the side of the leg and five or seven, depending on the height of the wearer, horizontal creases down the leg.

Remember to roll or hang your silk ties

In time these were accepted as the thing to have and were pressed firmly into place from the early years of the century. Since the First World War bell bottoms were purchased for tradition rather than any practical use but were replaced by flared trousers in 1977.

And the style keeps coming back.

A modest business man with a keen personal interest in the evolution of styles and progress of fashion through the ages, In particular, the performance of the silk weaving and silk tie manufacturing industry in England and its continuing survival in the face of the mass manufacturing revolution. Based in the United Kingdom and very much part of the new bespoke movement that is happening on Savile Row the oldest and most famous tailoring precinct in the world. Based in the United Kingdom this online shop carries a truly unique collection of English made silk ties and cufflinks by renowned designers, including, Timothy Everest (Savile Row), Ian Flaherty, Simon Carter, Michelsons, Louis Feraud d more. Luxury Pyjamas – Officially Not An Oxymoron

Luxury Pyjamas sound a great idea in principal but in reality can be pretty difficult to pin down. If anybody has ever done a survey on the top 10 things you’d really love for Christmas then luxury pyjama’s for women usually feature. And given that half the time it’s the men that are left to hunt them down the adventure becomes even more perilous. Where to buy them, what size, what should they be made of, are they meant to ‘go’ with anything else?

Where to buy luxury pyjama’s used to entail trawling the high street, and digging into the depths of departments stores to scrabble through their rails and see if by chance you can find something that isn’t covered in bows, puppy dogs, daisy buttons and frills. And that’s before you’ve worked out that the shape of the pyjama’s on display would suit a small conifer rather than the average sized women in the UK. Then you’ve got the problem of what they should be made of, brushed cotton with elasticated waists may suit your granny, and slinky silks are all well and good but if anyone has tried to prepare breakfast, answer the door to the postman, greet the odd in-law, and sleep all night without getting too hot/cold/twisted/flustered will know that slinky silk pj’s just aren’t that practical. The only choice for women being ‘comfy and frumpy’ or ‘sexy tonights the night’.

Thankfully there is a new sector emerging in the UK, that of luxury loungewear and with it swallowing up the beleagured pyjama market. This term loungewear is now setting a benchmark to the somewhat unloved area of sleepwear. It’s cool new cousin if you will. Clothing that can be worn inside and out, is ideal for sleeping and greeting the postman, and clothing that is made with a luxurious feel to it, without the impracticalities. So fabric that drape’s, that holds its shape, holds it colour, that feels wonderful to wear (and is a joy to wash). French jersey, luxury modal and the finest cashmere are signature fabrics being used by many leading designers in the field.

Perhaps it’s not surprising that this sector is growing, given that end user is becoming even more time poor, and thus even having the time to relax is becoming a luxury in itself. Couple this with the growing ‘cash poor’ feeling itself spreading to us all and the need to find versatile, multipurpose clothing that also feels luxurious (without the luxurious price tag) and it is no wonder that luxury pyjamas will become a must have not a nice to have. And what is more be very easy to find.

Why designer wear for kids?

Gone are the days when parents used to be satisfied with literally any type of clothing for their kids. These days fashion conscious parents more often than not insist on designer kids wear for their children. Children too on their part are choosier when it comes to clothing when compared to a decade ago. This has seen a big leap in kids fashion in recent times. These days you can find literally anything from baby shoes to designer baby wear and exclusive designer wear for both boys and girls being available in the markets.

Designers on their part are cashing in on this trend and are churning out an eye-catching range of clothing meant for children. Moreover, designer wear these days is not something that only the rich and famous could afford. With intense competition prevailing in the market, you can easily find someone who can sell them to you at a price that is affordable to you.

Designer clothes can help your kids make their own unique fashion statement. There is designer kids wear available nowadays for every fashion preference. From christening gowns to baby shoes and even designer baby wear, you name it and it is available in the market.

Although designer clothes are expensive, you should also remember that the quality of materials used in them is definitely superior. Similarly designer clothing is created with extreme care being taken of aspects such as the quality of threads used the cutting of the garment and even small things such as the choice of buttons. Since designer clothing items are customized pieces of clothes, utmost care is taken to maintain the highest standards of fit and quality.

A simple way to gauge the quality of designer kids wear would be to put them besides any other ready-to-wear clothing that you can get your hands on in the supermarkets. You will almost immediately note the difference in overall finish and quality between them. You can also use the tactic to compare them with their knock-offs. The knock-offs although may look real, will not be of the same quality as the real ones. No matter how hard they try, makers of these knock-offs are not able to achieve the same superior standards of quality as the real ones.

You can find shop around for them at authorized designer wear stores near you. The best way perhaps, to shop for kids wear these days is to hop online. You can find literally hundreds of online stores dealing with designer wear meant for children. If you were to put in a little bit of effort researching the various options available online, you can find lots of designer kids wear being sold at discount prices online. This is because online stores have lower overheads and inventory costs which they pass on to their customers in the form of discounts.

Designer clothing is all about quality and just about the perfect fit. This is the reason they wear better and also last longer. Although on the expensive side, they will give you more value for your money in the long run.

Spoilt for choice - A fashion meltdown

For the 2009 woman, fashion is vast, varied and most importantly – accessible. Our high streets are overflowing with department stores, fashion chains and independent designer boutiques. In more recent years, the internet has offered us choices and opportunities like nothing we have ever known before and the ability to buy new or used clothing from anywhere in the world.

Gone are the days of carefully selecting your favourite dressmaking pattern, gathering the right materials and spending hours creating the most up to date look by hand. Does anyone even sew any more? The most we have to do is pull out the laptop, browse our favourite sites and wait for the perfect outfit to land on our doorstep. Heaven forbid it takes longer than 2 days to arrive. But is it really that easy?

Firstly here\’s the eternal array of different fashions on offer… What flock we follow? What icon we worship? There\’s goth, hippy, vintage, emo, casual, glam, indie, rock chick, sporty, trendy, retro, skate, surf, burlesque… need I go on? Whatever we choose we can be sure there are plenty of retailers both on-line and on the high street, all fighting for our business and offering everything we could possibly want or need.

But of course the choices don\’t end there. You couldn\’t possibly just buy \’a dress\’. Is it mini or maxi? Shift or smock? Boob tube, halter-neck, strappy or wrap? Floral, striped, block colour, monochrome, neon or checked? Then there\’s fabric – cotton, silk, nylon, linen, denim, chiffon, satin, lycra, viscose? And maybe a little extra detail – beads, sequins, lace, diamantĂ©, buttons, bustles and zips. And not to forget length and shape– mini, midi, knee length, maxi, a-line, pencil, swing, full or straight? It\’s enough to give the most laid back amongst us a headache.
But it\’s not just clothing we need to consider – footwear, jewellery, hair, make-up, nails, skincare, handbags, watches, scarves, hats, glasses and perfume – each one a single piece of the jigsaw that makes every woman so unique.

Each element of our image is so carefully considered and so dramatically influenced. The music we listen to, the books and magazines we read, the television programmes and films we watch and the circle of friends we keep. As well as a million other financial, seasonal and climate driven reasons.

Our fashion is fast paced, relentless and ever changing but we love it to pieces and it just keeps growing. Recession or no recession, fast fashion is here to stay – the love of shopping is in our genes!

All things considered, it\’s surprising that we manage to get dressed every day (never mind look so fabulous) but these exciting and dynamic decisions are what most women clearly thrive on. Spoilt for choice? Absolutely not – anything less simply wouldn\’t do…

Taking Over the Catwalk: Plus Size Model

Thin, gaunt and vertically endowed models no longer have the whole runway to themselves. Today, plus-size, thick, and horizontally endowed models are also strutting their catwalks fiercely. The birth of the plus-size industry actually marks the return of idea of Classical beauty, where being voluptuous and full is attractive.

A plus-size model wears apparels that are larger than size 8, which is the standard size in the US. She models big-size clothing for women customers locally or internationally. As the modeling industry responds to how the garment industry moves, the area of plus-size modeling has grown around the world due to increasing demand for plus-size clothing. In fact, modeling agencies have become active on scouting potential Plus Size Model.

The comeback of this idea was propelled by the increasing number of women who demand plus-size clothing. This demand, in turn, also affected the modeling industry with the creation of a division for plus-size models. These models wear garments larger than the standard size 8 in America.

As you can notice in advertisements, promotions, and even in TV shows, this concept developed and became very much accepted primarily in North America. As people are diverse and media are influential, this area has also grown and expanded internationally. Fashion and garments experts regard this industry as a potentially high-earning across many countries. Modeling agencies, reality TV shows, and projects have all opened their doors on large women models.

Many magazines and advertising campaigns show plus-size models as women who represent the return of the voluptuous, Classical ideal of what beauty is, shown in the old sculptures like the Venus de Medici and the Winged Victory of Samothrace. This is the type of beauty that was popular in the West until the 20th century.

Though their bust-hip-waist ratios differ, there is not much difference when it comes to what a plus-size and a normal model does. Both have photo shoots for magazines, runway shows and also live TV campaigns. Plus-size models, however, also participate in or stimulate talks and forums about overly thin and sometimes anorexic or bulimic models in the modeling industry.
