The Footware Solution to Slush

After all of the snow and rain in New York this winter I have been trying to figure out a solution for footwear. I learned a lesson last week when I wore my rubber boots to work all day and didn't bring another pair of shoes to change into. Rubber boots are awful to wear for long periods of time because your feet start to sweat. Yuck! But these new shoe covers by Shuella are great because they slip on over your other shoes. They keep the slush out but you don't have to tote around your other shoes in your purse. And they come in several cute colors although I prefer the black myself. $49.50

Victoria Beckham escorted through Marks & Spencer

Victoria Beckham is escorted by police through stores in an attempt to control the ever increasing crowd. Dressed in oversized sunglasses, a faux-fur cape, leather leggings and a sheer black top means she is even more conspicuous.

Beckham has avoided animal activists PETA who initially thought she was wearing a real animal pelt instead of a fake fur gilet.

Anna Della Russo: see-through street style

Alpha female Anna Dello Russo is no stranger to major trends. Here she wore a sheer dress that has transparent elements and looks similar to lingerie as outerwear by D&G. The dress features accentuated shoulders and she matched it with YSL archive sandals.

Russo proves that the sheer trend will always remain the domain of confident women with killer figures.

With an outfit that is slightly reminiscent of Woodstock with 1970's waved hair, multi-coloured threading through her coat and bag as well as long pendants, Abbey Lee Kershaw looks more than endearing. We love to see Abbey off duty wondering the streets of Paris, and here she also wears a sheer overlay on top a lace dress.

It's also the layering that captures our attention here. The fabrics and jewellery are all light weight, and mixing a variety of colours with a base of blacks and whites really works.

Abbey looks completely different in this street style with the dandy hairstyle.

It seems today is Lara Stone day. We just can't get enough of this bombshell on Fashionising.com... first this morning she made it into our Fashgasm. Then even though Love Magazine released alternate covers for their next issue, Lara was still our pick. Now we've got our hands on a shoot by Philip Riches in which Lara dons a leather biker jacket, a see-through top and not much else.

This wouldn't really feel like a real Lara shoot without at least a dash of nudity, so the pictures in the gallery below are not safe for work.

Benetton Ad Campaign Casting

Benetton is looking for you. Yes you. For their new ad campaign. They are looking for something new and different, unconventional and surprising. You can post your photos online in the look-book as well as post a video to express your personality. The top 100 looks (based on user voting) will receive 200 euro in Benetton vouchers and will be featured in a book about global style. Sheer fabric is back as one of hottest 2009 and 2010 fashion trends, and plenty of celebrities are wearing it. But don't worry, it's not all about tight, see-through tops, and dresses that scream 'look at me' as we saw in the 1990s. Run your eyes over the Spring / Summer 2009 and Spring / Summer 2010 runway collections and you'll find sheer fabrics used in a multitude of ways: tight sheer pieces, layers, and the much sought after delicate, feminine draping.

Not limited to the usual though, 2008 also ushers in sheer skirts and pants - pair them with more modest bloomers or boy-shorts rather than a skimpy thong and you'll keep the look elegant.

And elegance really is the key to wearing the sheer fashion trend this year. While it was last at its most popular in the 1990s, it was in 2006 that it last hit our radar.

Of course, all swimwear isn't for swimming in. For any fashioniser beaches, pools and resorts are equally about socialising and mojitos as they are about cultivating the perfect tan; face facts, we're not always there to get our toes wet.

Enter a Spring/Summer season where no beach-wear will be complete without accessorizing. And the one key trend to use? The sheer trend.

While he gave us some of the season's sexiest bikinis by way of label Hervé Léger, with his own label Max Azria relied on the sheer trend (1 & 2) as a way of setting off otherwise lackluster swimwear; a good thing to note if you intend to recycle pieces from last year. Gottex one upped him however, with their gold, floral halter sheer slip which was a stand out of New York Fashion Week's swimwear fashions (3).

Hats off though to Milly by Michelle Smith Spring/Summer 2009 who sent her models down the runway with beachwear accessorizing perfect for 2010's bohemian fashion trend.

Taking their cues from the one shoulder fashion trend, one-shouldered bikinis will be the must have swimwear in 2010.

Thankfully, a standout one-shouldered swimwear piece isn't going to be hard to come by.

1.  Marios Schwab married the one-shouldered bikini with the cutaway bikini trend on his Spring/Summer 2009 runway at London Fashion Week. This particular piece also uses Summer florals taking what a risqué bikini to a girl level. It's cut and under-strapping make this a particular good piece for smaller chested girls.
2. Victoria's Secret included a single-shouldered piece in their 2008 line-up. More notable for it's side-tie briefs, this attention grabbing feature makes it a good bikini for girls whose legs are stand out.
3. A one-shouldered monokini was naturually used on Hervé Léger by Max Azria's Spring/Summer 2009 catwalk but sadly with no-where near the same sex appeal as other pieces in the collection. Read cut-away swimwear below for more
4. Under his own name Max Azria also sent a single-shouldered monikini down the catwalk, again pairing it with the cut-away trend. This particular piece stands out for it's use of a buckle clasp to join the body fabric with the shoulder. As with piece 3, smaller breasted girls are probably to avoid these particular cuts as they their black fabric will need some filling out to look best.
5. While not truly a one-shoulder monokini, Gottex's piece from their Spring/Summer 2009 collection has the same visual effect. It's clever halter neck also allows for a more revealing but and better support.
6. Finally, if you still have access to 2008 pieces; Gucci debuted their sophisticated take on the one-shouldered monokini as a part of their Spring/Summer 2008 collection.

In a collection of Cavalli-esque proportions Miss Bikini Luxe unsurprisingly gets 2010's bikini trends spot on.

Sadly, we're yet to see any instances of the one-shoulder bikinis on Miss Bikini Luxe's Spring/Summer 2010 catwalk, but the above two pictures show two very sexy takes on cutaway monokinis.

And would you expect any different from one of the world's leading lingerie houses? Even their take on cut-away elements is different as they paired bikinis and monokinis with cutaway and fishnet detailing. And we can't overlook the bikini-as-clothing designs of this denim bikini.

All in all, some stunning pieces for the voluptuous girls' Spring/Summer 2010 wardrobe.

Eloise Corr Danch Paper Dress On View at Kate's Paperie

Eloise Corr Danch's Ruffian Paper Doll dress is a historical costume paper sculpture. It was previously on display at the Museum of Arts and Design paper exhibition SLASH! Paper Under the Knife. The Victorian dress features papier mache pages from a book and an intricate internal wire bustle. I am a huge fan of Eloise Corr Danch's work - remember those paper flower pictures I posted from the Macy's flower show last year. Visit Eloise's website to see more of her work. And she's done it well ahead of the forthcoming New York Fashion Week with a collection that will undoubtedly earn this Brazilian talent a lot of fans.

Complete with one-shouldered bikinis, bandage bikinis, sheer one-pieces and cutaway bikinis this is a stand out collection. Some will rightly assert that not all the pieces are practical. But if you're hitting a poolside as opposed to the surf no one will think the less of you, in fact the opposite will be true.

You can't look past Herve Leger when it comes to the cut-away bikini trend, and Lindsay Lohan seems to know it. She wore Leger's red bandage bikini at her 23rd birthday celebration last week. But while fringing as a summer shoe trend is still going strong, Lindsay was way off with her black fringed heels - the shoes looking far too heavy for her otherwise light and beachy ensemble.

Lindsay managed to be photographed in a number of outfit changes across the day, including some ripped denim cutoffs and midriff-baring tops.

Opening Ceremony to Open in the Ace Hotel NYC

One of New York City's hotspots the Ace Hotel will soon house the second location of Opening Ceremony.
