Something about me

Hi there! Today is going to be a post dedicated to answering some of the questions a few readers sent me. It's nice to know there are followers of this blog who want to know more about the person behind it, so i'll do my best to please you.
But this post is going to show you also what i've seen today on the streets of Milan, 'cause i promised myself i'll carry a camera in my bag from now on, to take photos of stuff i like, people i find interesting, etc.
Let's start!

First of all, a bunch of you asked me about me, my job and my family:
I'm 26, i live in Milan and work as a fashion designer for a well established cashmere brand in Milan, i'm in charge of the women collection and my boss is obviously the art director. Before this i worked for Antonio Berardi and Alessandro dell'Acqua, both based in Milan.
I was born and raised in a small village up on a hill, called Vezzano, in the Ligurian region, on the north western part of Italy, on the coast, near the famous Five lands (cinque terre). I've an older sister, she's an architect and she's 36. And this is how i look:

Another question was wether i've always been into fashion:
No, i haven't. Actually, when i was a kid i was always dreaming about becoming a private eye, then an archaeologist, then an interpreter. After High school i had no idea which university was the best one for me so i took one year off, moved to London, worked at Habitat and while i was living there i realized i was observing a lot the way people dressed, the shapes of garments, the way they mixed colors and accessories, the details in clothes. I really wanted to study at the central Saint Martins but, since i had to pay everything by myself, i was unable to pay for it and work and study at the same time. That's why i came back to Italy, applyed to a fashion school and here i am now.

the third and final question was wether i am a shoe or a bag person:
i must admit i'm a bag person. I don't pay much of attention to shoes, i know it's bad but i'm much more attracted to bags. I love big, soft, amazingly detailed bags made of soft leather and able to carry all my stuff and making me look chic at the same time. Some of my fav ones are obviously Hermés' Birkin, Miu miu's big totes, Ysl's muse 2, etc. I adore vintage bags too.

Talking about shoes and bags, here's what catched my eye today on my way back home from work:an amazing Black leather Open toe ankle boot (look at the zip puller!!love it)a wonderful pair of grey suede platform ankle boots by one of my fav french labels

An amazing black leather tote ( at the super high price of 1.300 euros!) . I even loved the way they set up the shopwindow, with the mannequin sporting the same hairdo the models had during the a/w 2010 fashion show. Looks like the perfect soft and large bag i could die for!

After that i felt so depressed i went straight to the kitchen, grab some food i usually love (Edamame, turkey on wholegrain bread and a peach) and ended up looking for beautiful leather bags on Ebay and Etsy while eating nervously.
Tomorrow is going to be a busy day at work, we got lots of stuff to do and a reasearch to start for the new a/w collection. I'll do my best to take some nice photos. Have a lovely night

Laura
